Eleventh "Skup stručnih službi"

From 25 till 27 October 2017 the 11th "Skup stručnih službi" was held in Makarska and Hyla also participated. During the three days around 140 participants heard a total of 27 talks covering various topics from the nature protection sector, but the primary goal was the exchange of experience and the education of employees working in the public institutions in order to facilitate more efficient protection and sustainable management of protected areas.

On the last day, Hyla's employees presented the preliminary results of the „Water Pearls of the Adriatic Islands“ project, at the center of which is the evaluation and protection of island wetlands. The public institutions were interested in colaboration and we are hopeful that with their support we will contribute to the effectiveness of wetland conservation in Croatia.

The highlight of the meeting was the field trip to Nature Park Biokovo and the view from Biokovo's highest peak – Sv. Jura. During the hike the Park's employees explained the way they carry out monitoring and which projects they are currently working on.
